Our Story
Financing small businesses is not easy. At McIntosh Financial, we have deep relationships with a network of Chartered Banks, Private Equity Firms, Venture Capital Funds, Investment Banks and other private and public sources of funding.

Founded in 2011, we have over 20 years of working with the CEO's of small to medium businesses and have completed many types of financings including debt, equity and private placements.

Deep Industry Knowledge
SUSAN MCINTOSH
FOUNDING PARTNER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR
​
Susan has been working in the financial industry for over 20 years. She began her career at TD Canada Trust later joining BMO Financial Group in Commercial Banking, holding various roles, and also specializing in knowledge - based industries (technology and life sciences).
​
Joined the BDC Investment Group, providing high growth financing, acquisition and shareholder buyout financing to companies in a diverse range of industries. She further successfully marketed of the BDC’s Mezzanine Fund for Women Entrepreneurs, which invested over $25 million in Women owned or controlled businesses.
​
She has financed many small to medium sized businesses both in the traditional commercial sector and technology life science sectors running the gamut from short and long term bank financing to equity financing.
Years of Experience
Invested over $30 million by way of mezzanine financing in approximately twenty companies over the past seven years. Successful exits from many companies in industries such as aerospace, generic pharmaceuticals, IT and manufacturing netting returns in the high teens.

Prior to this venture, she managed the FIER CPVC Montréal L.P. and successfully raised additional funds for many of the FIER’s portfolio companies. She also spent a year at the National Bank of Canada in the Commercial Banking Group once again specializing in Knowledge Based Industries (financing Start-Ups as well as established and public companies).
​
Susan holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales at the Université de Montréal.
